Wuthering Waves: Spectro Rover Team Composition Guide
Spectro Rover, or default Rover, is the main player character (male or female) that players will choose at the start of their journey in Wuthering Waves. Unlike some other Gacha games, the default player character in Wuwa isn’t a 5-Star just for show; they are, in fact, one of the best units in the game, even in their base state.
While players will unlock Havoc Rover during the main story, that does not mean they need to put aside the base Spectro variant of Rover entirely. In fact, Spectro Rover is just as viable, if not more, than Havoc Rover. And there are plenty of team compositions that take advantage of their kit.
Spectro Rover works best as a quick swap DPS that shares the field with other DPS characters for an equal amount of time. Unlike the traditional main DPS + sub-DPS + Support combo that most team compositions consist of, Spectro Rover likes things a little bit more free-form.

Wuthering Waves: Spectro Rover Build Guide
Spectro Rover is the first version of the main character in Wuthering Waves before players unlock the Havoc version later.
1 Spectro Rover + Sanhua + Verina
Spectro Rover, Sanhua, and Verina all take a similar amount of on-field time in this team. To start, Spectro Rover wants to do their quick rotation: Basic Attack into Heavy Attack into skill into Liberation before swapping out to Sanhua. If the Concerto has been built up, Sanhua can use the short, slow time window of Rover’s Outro skill as a means of setting up her own combo, summoning ice blocks before exploding them with her Forte Circuit. Because Sanhua’s perfect rotation relies on her getting her Forte Circuit off correctly, players can rely on the slow time to set it up.
Verina is an excellent buffer and healer in Wuthering Waves, providing much-needed sustain in the form of unlimited healing and extra off-field damage via her Liberation. This team is very swap-friendly, meaning players don’t need to stick to an optimal rotation. Dodging and counterattacking are very much on the cards here, which makes using this team extremely satisfying.

2 Spectro Rover + Yangyang + Baizhi
For F2P players, both Yangyang and Baizhi can be obtained for free without pulling on any banners. Like the previous team, this team is also swap-heavy. However, unlike Verina, Baizhi doesn’t like to spend much time on-field. Her job is only to heal the team when needed and buff them when necessary. Otherwise, Yangyang and Rover split the time fifty-fifty. As an energy battery, Yangyang can ensure that Rover’s Liberation can be used on cooldown (20 seconds). Not only that, but Yangyang can also serve as effective crowd control, sucking in enemies to a single point for Rover to clean up with her Forte Circuit.
This is especially useful in the Tower of Adversity, where players need to clear out groups of enemies in as short a window of time as possible. Spectro Rover can also help Yangyang with her crowd control by slowing down time with her Outro skill, allowing Yangyang time to position herself correctly for her Liberation.

3 Spectro Rover + Jianxin + Mortefi
Jianxin will be doing the bulk of the heavy lifting on this team, providing damage, buffs, shields, and CC for her teammates and herself. Spectro Rover will still take up a good chunk of time on-field, but Jianxin will be the centerpiece.
Mortefi’s role here is to set up Jianxin’s heavy attacks through his Outro Skill, which provides the incoming character with +38% Heavy Attack damage. His Liberation effect creates a turret that works for both Jianxin and Rover, firing Marcato bullets at anyone they hit with a basic or heavy attack. Rover’s time to shine will be when Jianxin pulls in a horde of enemies to herself. The player will swap to Rover, use her Forte Circuit buffed Resonance skill, and follow up with the basic and heavy attack combo before finishing off with the Liberation. Then, swap to Mortefi, use his Liberation, and trigger his Outro skill before swapping to Jianxin to do the cleanup.
