Spotify launched its AI DJ feature in February 2023, providing a radio-like stream of music with its own artificial DJ chatting between tracks.
None of its rivals have quite followed suit yet, but YouTube Music appears to be preparing its own spin on the idea of AI radio.
A Reddit user posted a screenshot showing an “Ask for music any way you like” interface in YouTube Music, labelled as an experiment. It accepts a prompt and creates a custom radio station in response.
Tech site 9to5Google has more information on how this relates to previous rumours of a new personalised-radio feature on YouTube Music.
However, the new feature has not been announced or confirmed at this point, so as is the way of these things, there’s no guarantee yet that it will become part of the commercial service.
