Zara ‘temporarily closes’ two sections in Liverpool ONE store

Zara has announced that two sections of the store will temporarily closed.

While improvement work is taking place in the Liverpool ONE shop, the menswear and kidswear departments will be closed to the public. Those wanting to shop in the womenswear department can still do so on the first floor.

Last month it was revealed that the Zara unit would undergo an expansion, with it almost doubling in size. To accommodate new facilities and technologies, Zara will jump from its current 27,000 sq ft unit to 42,000 sq ft.

The revamped store is expected to open later this year. A sign in the shop window of Zara reads: “We are currently improving the image of our store. While our ladieswear department will continue to trade as normal on the first floor, our menswear and kidswear departments will be temporarily closed.

“Your nearest stores are Trafford Centre and Chester.” Zara plans to offer a larger selection of menswear, womenswear, and childrenswear with new in-store technologies such as self-service areas and online order collection points.

Rob Deacon, director of asset management at Liverpool ONE owners Grosvenor, said: “Zara choosing to increase their investment in Liverpool ONE is a testament to the location’s reputation as a destination for flagships. As one of Liverpool ONE’s leading retailers, we have no doubt that the upsized anchor store will only serve to strengthen Zara’s sustained demand and loyal customer base in Liverpool.”
